設計作品描述：

我們一直在思考住家是否有可能隨著擺設的變化而產生多樣的空間性格？好比在藝廊空間，掛上蒙娜麗莎的畫，時序就回到了十六世紀文藝復興的古典風景，而掛上Pollock的抽象滴畫，當色彩與線條縱橫交疊，便讓人頓時進入了宇宙混沌之源。藝廊，總是維持著一貫的白色純度，像一張超大空白畫布似的，以隨時容納各種樣態、風格與美學浸漬其中。在這個住家個案，我們便以此設計思維貫穿；把硬體裝修減到最低，盡量不讓硬體佔據視覺意念，而是細細鋪陳出一面白，以低限的彩度，去廣納空間裡的各項元素，於是，因著純淨的基調，引領人進入了更無拘束的開放場域，隨之而來的輕鬆與安適，以回歸到作為住家空間應有的靈動質氣。

對一般涇渭分明的住家風格，我們嘗試鬆動主觀上的界定，現代與新古典的美學各持其分地在空間中互為交融。以現代風格為空間基調，一個個宛如畫框卻簡化了的方框與曲折非線性的線條，又不時以柔美的姿態，雕飾其上，例如：一進玄關，灰白色調如墨染澹澹席捲天地壁，輝映在不同材質上：磁磚、木頭、石材與灰鏡、玻璃鏡上，輔以炙白燈光，無彩度卻有流動的映射輾轉其中，像是不由自主簇擁著家人湧進室內的一股浪潮，呼應著新古典線條，從玄關延伸至書房，陰刻與凸刻的虛實相對，也浥引著從灰色鏡面反射的實虛對立關係，景象拉伸又拉遠，拉鬆了壓迫感，所有事物近在眼前，卻又有無限綿延的尺度，自然而然攬進了室外自然的晨昏光線，也攬進了每日景色不一的變換刻度，靜默且灰白基調，彷彿隨時可以吸納眾相，家人在客廳或餐廳，移動在每一處，都有在場的光陰與其對應的影，讓空間環聚豐饒景致。

家是令人放心與舒適的居場所，且非由風格來框限。我們可以說，現代又納涵古典的住家空間是一種對美的喚發，及一種剛柔並濟的能量聚合。

 

Let the light in to broaden your horizon.

We have discerned the mutability of domestic spaces that change along with the interior settings for some time. In a gallery space, too, the portrait of Mona Lisa sends us to the classical landscape in the sixteenth-century Renaissance. With a Jackson Pollock, on the other hand, we enter the chaotic origin of the universe along with the dripping and weaving of colors and lines in abstract expressionism. Gallery space maintains the purity of whiteness like an enormous canvas to accommodate the possibilities of different modes, styles, and aesthetics. This is the concept of this residential design. The interference of the hardware embellishment on the consciously visible level is reduced to a minimum, while the sheer whiteness of the surface accommodates the elements in the space. The pure datum introduces a liberated atmosphere of open fields.  The ensuing relaxation and comfort bring forth the spirited vividness of what home ought to appear.

Rather than maintaining a distinctive character in domestic designs, we tried to release the personal boundaries between classical and modern aesthetics. The two approaches fuse with one another in the space. The modern style constitute the datum of the space. The decorative lines frame the rectangular and curvaceous non-linearity while simplifying them with elegant gestures of the sculptural ornaments. At the entrance porch, the grey tone imbues the ceiling and flooring with monochrome strata that shine on different materials: porcelain tiles, wood, stone as well as grey and glass mirrors. The white fluorescent light accentuates the deflections of colors like the surging wave that embraces the family members. The corresponding classical lines extend from the porch to the study room. The juxtaposition of bulged and recessed lines also reflects the contrast between the solid and the void on the grey mirror. Depth and distance reduce the oppressive sense of the space and, paradoxically, pull everything closer to the eyes by the infinitely extending scale. The introduction of sunlight at dawn and dusk also brings in the ever-changing measure of scenography. The silent and pale grayness seem to absorb all that is surrounding the living room and the dining rooms. As the families move on every corner, the presence of lights and shadows also shifts and enriches the environment.

Home is a place of relax and comfort that resists the framing of styles. A domestic space accommodates both the modern and classical modes summon the beauty, embodying the gathering of dynamic and gentle energies.
